Aikido is a modern martial art from Japan based on respect and harmony. We train to move smoothly WITH the energy that others express as they come at us —using spirals, pivots, wrist controls and easy pins. We practice to become stewards of calm, mutual resolution in the midst of chaos and conflict. There will be demonstrations of aikido, explanations of how the philosophy is embodied and expressed, and opportunities for participation in easy paired exercises
(no falling, no impact) to experience the fundamentals underlying the aikido techniques. Presentation begins at 1pm. There will be a short break in the middle. We will end around 2:30pm. Questions and replies until 3pm.
