Crazy Generous: Put It Into Practice

Sunday we kicked off Crazy Like Us by looking at what it means to become genuinely generous people. Generosity isn’t just a random good deed or an emotional response to a need. It’s a premeditated decision to put others ahead of ourselves.

So how do we put it into practice this week?

1. Decide before the opportunity arrives.
Don’t wait until the moment comes to decide whether you’ll be generous. Build generosity into your budget, your calendar, and your life.

2. Look for people instead of projects.
Generosity isn’t just about supporting good causes. It’s about seeing the people right in front of us. Who needs encouragement? Who could use some help? Who needs a meal, a conversation, a ride, or simply someone to notice them? Ask yourself: “Who can I bless today?”

3. Start where you are.
You don’t have to wait until you have more money, more time, or more resources. Ask, “What do I already have that I could use to bless someone else?”

Your challenge this week: Choose one person and intentionally do something generous for them.
