What a person does with Jesus is the most important decision a person will ever make in their lifetime. The Bible clearly teaches that salvation is found only in Jesus Christ and through no other person, little "g" god, or human effort. Not only does Christ invite us into a relationship with him through His gift of grace, He commands us as followers to be obedient to His ways and words. Christ commands us to be baptized as an act of obedience to Him. Baptism does not add to salvation. Baptism doesn't finalize salvation. Baptism doesn't make a person holier or more spiritual. Here's what baptism is: It's a chance to be obedient to Christ. It's a chance to identify oneself as a believer and follower of Christ. It's a chance to proclaim the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus. It's a chance to go public with your faith and confess Jesus as Lord of your life!!! Baptism is a celebration of new life in Christ and we want to celebrate with those who have recently gone public with their faith.
Take a few moments to watch some of the videos of people who have been obedient through baptism recently at Grace!
